About Us

Built in 1860 this Cape style home was once home to the Rivers Family of eight. It is also rumored to have once been a stagecoach stop. Located in the quaint town of Andover, NH, at the edge of Ragged Mountain State Forest & just off of route 4, it's conveniently located less than a half-mile from Andover Village and Proctor Academy. Many of the main house's original features have been maintained, restored or incorporated into the current design of the home. You'll find plenty of charm and nostalgia throughout. From the Hoosier Cabinet in the kitchen, and the old Westinghouse refrigerator, to the clawfoot tub in the bathroom, there are reminders from days gone by.

Now owned by Harry & Irene River's granddaughter Kym Arena and her husband, Bob, who have lovingly restored and maintained the home for future generations to enjoy. They welcome singles, couples, and families to come enjoy the home for their New Hampshire vacations.

This home comfortably sleeps 6 with a queen size bed in the first-floor master bedroom, and two additional queen beds in the attic loft room. There's also a futon and full-size bed in an open loft in the recently renovated rear lodge entry.

In warmer months, guests can enjoy curling up on the screen porch with a good book, playing a game of Scrabble or cribbage around the pub table, BBQ'ing on the gas grill or sitting at the outdoor bar or by the campfire under the stars. In winter months snowshoe & cross country ski directly from the back door. Ski Mt. Sunapee & Ragged Mountains just minutes away. Snowmobile the Northern Rail Trail and hundreds of miles of groomed trails across the state.

Rustic, yet comfortable, truly a classic New England get-a-way.

Come here to enjoy New Hampshire.
